BPS SciCasts: Teacher Tips and Video Clips
Nearly 200 screencasts to help you teach science in BPS!!
Each year the Science Department supports its teacher leaders as they prepare and present science unit PD for novices and veterans alike. With resources more scarce than ever, we have asked our teacher leaders to create screencasts to help you with implementation of the science instructional materials, K through Chemistry. We asked our TLs to present and overview of the unit and then dig a little deeper and walkthrough some of the lessons that are a little less intuitive or a bit more challenging to set up. As you watch a series of videos on a unit, you will find lots of great teacher-to-teacher tips and tricks as well as details about the following:
Student Learning Outcomes Documents
Science Content and Standards
Science and Engineering Practices
Common Writing Assigments
Close Reading Tasks
ELL/Special Education Strategies
Schoolyard or Outdoor connections
Tips for Managing Students & Materials
As time goes on, we will add additional screencasts that provide information and updates about a variety of topics: the draft MA STE Framework, science fair paperwork and requirements, science and engineering practices, just to name a few. We thank our wonderful teachers who really put themselves out there and created these instructional resources for you!!
